OTA in Action is not just a committee - it’s also a mandate that we put to all of our members. This is the call to get involved. To add to the singular OTA voice so we can make a lot of noise. If, as some like to say, “the squeaky wheel gets the grease” then what other industry has as many wheels (squeaky or not) as Oregon’s trucking industry?
Call to Action
Decisions are being made in Salem, at city council meetings, at workgroup meetings, by project and program committees and everywhere in between. These are often spearheaded and influenced by those who understand very little about the trucking industry yet feel qualified to make decisions for it…for us.
OTA is committed to representing the interests of our members and the industry, vehemently fighting to bring our concerns to the table; however, that doesn’t mean that we don’t need your help to get the point across. We need your voice. Your story. Your perspective. Your INVOLVEMENT!
Get in on the action by answering the call for comments and testimony. Complete industry surveys to create a roadmap for future activities. Attend events and share your ideas.
Simply put – show up for Oregon trucking!
Key Contact Program
OTA members are the best ambassadors for our industry, and you don’t have to serve on formal committee to make a difference! OTA’s Key Contact Program helps members develop relationships with their local legislators and other decisionmakers. Elected officials are there to serve their constituencies – and that includes the trucking industry. There are a number of ways to make a connection and build awareness so trucking’s perspectives, concerns and insights inform decisions in your own backyard and beyond.
Not sure where to start? That’s where OTA’s Key Contact Program comes into play. We can offer guidance, provide information and help you build your own network of contacts.
